Brief Academic Achievements :

Prof. Dr. Basavaiah C. is a retired Professor in the Department of Studies in Sericulture Science, University of Mysore, specialising in mulberry cytogenetics, breeding, and agronomy. He is an elected Fellow of the Indian Society of Genetics and Plant Breeding, New Delhi.

He held several academic and administrative positions at the University of Mysore. Before university service, he worked as a scientist in state and central sericulture research institutes. He has guided six Ph.D. scholars, published 65 research papers, and completed major research projects. He visited China to study sericulture practices and coordinated a long-term waste-management initiative at the University of Mysore.
